Good thought Dan. When I went to the MIT Media Lab a couple of months ago they talked about the future of transportation and showed me the concepts, in their view, for the future of urban city transportation. Pretty interesting, here's an article discussing it if you're interested:

Interesting, the first thought that went through my head when I read this was whether your daughter will ever own ANY car. More and more I see people in their 20s eschewing cars, and balk at the very idea of having to own one. If that trend continues, things could be pretty different fifteen years from now.
