Brad, I so appreciate this post. My surgery is in 2 weeks, and I "fear" sliding back, also. I have friends who have been very successful, and others that have been very successful at defeating the surgery. I hope and pray that my determination will stick - and will lean heavily on family and friends to keep me in line.

Thanks for your comment and I feel you brother. All I can say is by contributing and being apart of a community to hold you accountable (as well as having friends/family around) is what continues to make yourself successful. Don't be afraid to go to them and say, "Look, you know and I know I've had an issue with my weight, if it gets out of hand, I give you permission to say something to me."
Screw the social norms, this is about your life. Good luck on the surgery and keep us posted.
